Based in Sunny Island of Singapore, I enjoy solving problems using both analytical and design skills to deliver experiences that bring joy to my users.
I am Cara, a UX/UI designer who enjoys working in a team, and creating useful and usable solutions for my users. One day, I discovered UX to be the combined beauty of Science and Design, and never let it go since then. My core skills lie in integrating Science into UX, where I love solving problems with user data. If sparking joy in others’ live is another belief we shared, let’s create together! Read on to learn how I dive into UX.
My art influencer
Being a libra individual, I naturally took a liking in beautiful things. However my mom was the one who heavily influenced me to love art where it later became my favourite school subject. As I grew up, art becomes a part of life, I would take up hobbies such as dance, pottery, acrylic painting and scrapbooking, etc.
Taking a route to Supply Chain opens up my eyes
Drawn to UX was unexpected
Before switching to UX, I worked in the healthcare supply chain as a Compliance Specialist. I was cultivated to implement effective solutions in a team that balance between improving staff behaviours and meeting business goals under tight timeline. This has helped me to better relate to one of the underlying challenges in UX design - find a balance between user and business goal.
I was browsing Youtube videos when I came across UX design unexpectedly. I landed myself in UX, believing that I could make use of my analytical and systematic-thinking skills in designing great user experience. This spreed me to join General Assembly flexi course to learn In-depth UX skills ranging from user research, wire-framing and prototyping professionally.
"I swim alongside Change, dance with Continuous Improvement & burn with Passion."
My values
🌐 CHANGE
I used to fear Change. However, since I break into UX Design, this has made me realised that Change is a catalyst to growth.
🚀 CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
To move forward, we need to "plunge into it, move with it and join in the dance", like what Alan Watt said. That was how I learnt Continuous Improvement should be treated.
💛 PASSION
I figured out that how essential it is to have Passion for everything we do. For that makes driving anything so much easier and meaningful.
